Is Florence finally discovering a whole ‘new’ century? Elisabeth Chaplin’s The Three Sisters, a painting restored by the Advancing Women Artists in 2014, was included in an important show at Pitti’s Gallery of Modern Art called Spotlight on the 1900s. Several works by women artists that are normally in storage were also part of the exhibition, including Reading, which Elisabeth Chaplin created in 1912. Other works not normally on public view: Chaplin’s Rest in Egypt and Flavia Arlotta’s Girl in a White Dress. March, 2015.
