'Welcome Day' has 'New Winners'

What good things can come from loving Florence when you’re young… Tuscan American Association recognizes Jane Fortune and Piero Antinori during their annual ”Welcome Day” ceremony at Palazzo Vecchio (September, 2013). In her acceptance speech, Dr. Fortune shared with international students from 30-plus universities her own passion for the city, which she first experienced as a student herself, ‘molti anni fa’, many years ago. Piero Antinori, the fifteenth descendant of the prominent Tuscan wine-making family, was the evening’s other honoree. Past Tuscan American Awards have been bestowed on the likes of film director Franco Zeffirelli and singer Andrea Boccelli.
