Tuesday, October 9 2018 at 6pm is a moment of remembrance for author and philanthropist Jane Fortune. Her work in Florence and the United States has inspired art lovers worldwide. Jane’s giving spirit will be sorely missed, as the city pays tribute to her ongoing legacy. In the meantime, here’s a snippet from a personal tribute by Linda Falcone, published in The Florentine where she was Cultural Editor since 2006.

“Florence is mother to many great men. But the good news is she is not too old to have children. In 1942, the city gave birth to a daughter rather than an illustrious son, and it happened in absentia, that is, Jane Fortune was born in Indianapolis, but to the very core of her being, she belonged to Florence.” Click here to continue.
