Fortezza da Basso draws sector professionals at its Fifth Annual Art and Restoration Fair. This special event in November 2016 brought together restorers, technicians and curators from all over the world. Since 1966, Florence has been a prime center for restoration, thanks to its world-renowned 'Opificio delle Pietre Dure' and numerous state-of-the-art restoration schools and studios. Event highlights included the presentation of Giorgio Vasari’s Last Supper at Santa Croce and an AWA-hosted lecture on restoring art by women in Florence at the Salone’s ‘Talking Corner’.
