Art-by-women event at the Embassy of Italy in Washington DC and Italian Cultural Institute

Move over Michelangelo… The Embassy of Italy in Washington DC and Italian Cultural Institute is spotlighting the work of Florence’s museums and Advancing Women Artists in our efforts to rediscover restore and exhibit art by Tuscany’s historic female painters and sculptors. At 4pm on June 4, art aficionados stateside are invited to attend a lecture by AWA conservator Elizabeth Wicks: “The Art of Healing: The Rediscovery of Historical Women Artists in Florence”. Expect news and views on Plautilla Nelli, Artemisia Gentileschi, Violante Siries Cerroti, Giovanna Garzoni and even our latest leading lady… Violante Ferroni. It is an honor to share the journey of conservation and historical discovery at this prestigious venue for the promotion of Italian culture and heritage. Participants please register: HERE.
