Florence Mayor Dario Nadella recognizes founder Jane Fortune as honorary citizen of Florence. Dr. Fortune received her 'Fiorino d'Oro' award during an international event called "Unity and Diversity" Global Mayors' Forum which centered on protecting natural and artistic heritage (November 2016). "I believe we can consider Jane Fortune an ambassador for Florence in the world," said Florence's mayor, Dario Nardella. "We consider Mrs. Fortune, one of our citizens, one of us, a Florentine in every way, and I’d even go so far as to say, a great Florentine, and for this reason we are truly proud to present her with the Fiorino d’Oro."
