Women artists and patrons at the Late Medici Court. A conference on women of power and those of ‘paint’. The Jane Fortune Research Program at the Medici Archive Project is AWA’s sister organization. From 10am to 6pm on April 21, 2017 at the Medici Archive Project Headquarters on Via dei Benci 12, (Palazzo Alberti) international scholars came together to present original research on themes like women artists and the scientific culture of the early Enlightenment; Anna Maria Luisa’s patronage at Via La Quiete and women actresses, dancers and musicians at the Medici court. Painter Agnese Dolci, patroness Violante di Baviera and Vittoria della Rovere are other women whose lives were in the limelight.
