We believe in getting art by women out of storage and into the public limelight NOW. Leonetta Pieraccini is a twentieth-century Tuscan artist whose many paintings and drawings find their home at Florence's famed Gabinetto Vieusseux, an archival study center and international library that was once magnet for minds like DH Lawrence and Mark Twain. Restoration is scheduled for completion September 2018. But Pieraccini will not be the only artist to 'carry' this project. Our post-restoration show will bring together eight 'invisible' female artists who worked in Florence and Rome. Their art, primarily in storage, will exhibited from in Autumn 2018 in the heart of downtown Florence, at the prestigious Ente Cassa di Risparmio exhibition venue in via Bufalini. The project will include myriad cultural events organized at Villa Il Palmerino: conferences, music performances, round-table discussions and the presentation of Florence's growing (recently restored female archives on paper… including photography and drawings) will give a 360-degrees of creative mediums women often adopted between the two world wars in Italy.
