AWA pictures worth a thousand words. In 2006, Jane Fortune, AWA's founder, began restoring art by women in Florence, as a personal passion. Since then, it has been impossible for her to keep her quest to herself. Museum directors, philanthropists and scholars have shared in the effort to salvage and exhibit art by women. AWA also partners with many top-level institutions and private companies in support of our mission. Our Art Angel Program encourages the general art-loving public to take a stance for 'art by women' and to feel a part of our mission in many ways. This 'Magic Moments Gallery', created especially for our Art Angels, helps gain a 'visual' understanding of where we've been all these years.
