Florence has art by women thanks to the protagonist of its most unique local theater company. The Medici Dynasty is a moving theatre experience about the final brother and sister of the ruling Medici family line – Anna Maria Luisa and Gian Gastone. With no heirs, they face the end of their rule and Anna Maria Luisa makes a history-changing decision to create The Family Pact, leaving the cultural patrimony of the family to the city of Florence and securing its future as the treasure it still is today. This one hour performance goes behind the scenes of the Medici dynasty, and recounts over 300 years of Florentine history and it’s presented in a Baroque Church in the centre of Florence.
