A gift in support of AWA's programs will give you wings! Art lovers from all over the world want to become more involved in AWA's mission and be an active part of its growing community. That's why we developed The Art Angel Program! It brings together Florence locals and people from all over the world who wish to build a network and pledge their support... silver, gold, ruby, emerald and diamond wings!

Join us. Become an Art Angel. Help us promote and protect hidden works by women artists that deserve recognition.

Please note that AWA will be closing its doors in June 2021. Gifts received until that date will be used for the restoration of Violante Ferroni’s paintings and their video documentation and research publication.

Because AWA is a not-for-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status this donation is tax deductible in the United States. The Art Angel program implies a one-time gift. Art Angels are invited to 'renew their wings' year after year, via an annual email from AWA staff.

AWA's 'Art Angel Program' is a community-building initiative that brings art lovers together to advocate for the conservation and exhibition of art by women.

Why be an Art Angel?

What are the benefits of becoming an Art Angel? Because the desire to support art is often interconnected with one's own values, talents and passions, we at AWA believe that it's important to form a community in which like-minded people can come together for personal enrichment and cultural enhancement.
- Name recognition. Art Angels will receive name recognition on AWA’s website. Upon registration, they will also be invited to submit their favorite inspirational quote about art by women.
- News and views. Twice a year (April and October), all Art Angels will receive an e-copy of our insiders' magazine: Inside AWA. It’s another way to keep abreast of the AWA’s comings and goings, crafted for those who crave in-depth updates on AWA’s initiatives.
- Magic Moments Gallery. Can you not get enough of our mission? As an Art Angel, you’ll have special access to the ‘Magic Moments’ portion of our website that’s reserved for die-hard aficionados. This in-progress photo gallery captures our very favorite memories. It will help Art Angels be in the loop about AWA’s past, as we build our future ‘magic moments’ together.

What do AWA’s Art Angels do?

- They share AWA’s work with their friends. Helping raise awareness is fundamental to increasing our knowledge regarding art by women the world over. Sharing the AWA’s news via our website or links our other media channels (Youtube, Facebook and Instagram) are simple but surefire ways to spread the word!
-They advocate for art by women. Art Angels strive to be effective members of the art world by advocating the need to ‘advance’ women artists through research, restoration and exhibition. They strike up constructive conversations. They use AWA and its mission as an example for the communities in which they live. Art by women is a world-wide treasure. Let’s make that knowledge known everywhere!
- They know it’s the thought that counts! When the opportunity presents itself, they gift AWA books to their nearest and dearest. Art Angels keep in mind that proceeds from our products support the restoration of art by women in Florence, if they ever need an original way to make someone else feel special.

A word about the paintings pictured:
Angelica Kauffmann is a perfect muse for our Art Angel section. Her works often depict women and artistic inspiration. Called 'Miss Angel', she was known as 'a Raphael among women'. The art pictured is not hosted in Florence though Kauffmann sojourned there during her famous Italian period, described in Goethe's 'Italian Journeys'.
