2010 Outstanding Conservator Awardee. Painting conservator Rossella Lari has worked in Florence for over 40 years, primarily for civic and state institutions. She collaborates regularly with universities, scientific centers and research institutes. As a restorer, she has worked on paintings by many Renaissance artists including Botticelli, Perugino, Filippino Lippi, Suor Plautilla Nelli and Pontormo, as well as modern masters, among them Guttuso, Marino Marini and Ottone Rosai. For the Advancing Women Artists, she has restored several paintings by Suor Plautilla Nelli including San Marco’s Lamentation with Saints and San Salvi’s panels Saint Dominic Receives the Rosary and Saint Catherine in Prayer. She also assists in monitoring paintings in exhibitions and permanent museum collections.
