AWA's 'Invisible Women' tour
AWA's 'Invisible Women' tour is inspired by Jane Fortune's book by the same name. It invites art lovers to discover the 'forgotten' women artists of Florence, thanks to a two-hour visit to the Pitti Palace. Women artists like Artemisia Gentileschi, Lavinia Fontana and Angelica Kauffman take center stage in this fascinating jaunt through multiple centuries spotlighting painting by women and the noblewomen patrons who commissioned them. Tour proceeds support the restoration of art by women in Tuscany.
