Nelli’s Last Supper is the largest painting by an early woman artist in the world. Created post-1560s, the artist’s masterwork is the only known Last Supper painting by a female painter. In storage for over 450 years, this 21-foot long painting will soon be restored to its original dignity and shared with the world-wide public for the first time ever.

This project includes conservation treatments, diagnostic analysis, photographic documentation, creation of a video-short on the restoration, a publication and full-scale documentary. Nearly 67,000 dollars toward this project was raised via crowd-funding on the Indiegogo platform during the 2017 campaign: TheFirstLast. Fund-raising continues as that sum covers only a portion of project costs. Based on their level of giving, contributors will receive certain ‘perks’ inspired by art by women in Florence. Contributions of $25+ entitle givers to periodic updates on the state of the project.
